The brilliance of A Space Shooter For Free comes from the tone of the game. Filled with a macho main character and an artificial intelligence designed after a butler, there’s not much to take seriously with A Space Shooter For Free.
Even the gameplay is simplistic and punctuated with catchphrases from the main character. The actual experience with A Space Shooter For Free is impressive, with simple touch-based controls. Players guide the ship as it fires lasers, missiles, and other projectiles at enemy ships, asteroids, and anything else unfortunate enough to cross the path of the ship.
A Space Shooter For Free does require some quick reflexes to move the ship out of the way of oncoming enemy fire. A Space Shooter For Free uses the an old gameplay mechanic of structured patterns and adds in a pseudo-random environment with the asteroids. The game is not entirely random, but adds enough variety to keep things interesting.
The visuals of A Space Shooter For Free are not the most amazing, but the polygons of the ships and asteroids and including the explosions is enough to keep things interesting. It should not push to capabilities of most Android devices, but does works well enough for the game.
A Space Shooter For Free is not going to change the shooter genre, but infuses a lot more character.
